Questions We Get a Lot
Traditional saunas heat the air around you to very high temperatures, while infrared saunas use infrared light panels to warm your body directly — typically at lower ambient temperatures. Many people find infrared sessions feel gentler and more comfortable while still delivering deep, radiant heat. Both are excellent choices; it comes down to personal preference and the experience you want at home.
The wood species used in a sauna cabin matters quite a bit — it affects durability, scent, how well it handles repeated heat and moisture cycles, and the overall aesthetic. Our infrared saunas are built from quality timbers such as FSC-certified hemlock and Canadian red cedar, both well-regarded in the sauna industry for their stability and natural resistance to the conditions inside a sauna cabin. We only carry cabins where the materials are clearly specified so you know exactly what you are investing in.
Most home infrared sauna cabins are designed to fit comfortably in a spare room, basement, or garage with a standard power outlet nearby — exact footprint dimensions are listed on each individual product page. We recommend measuring your intended space and checking the product specifications before purchasing. If you have questions about a specific model's requirements, our team is happy to help before you buy.
We offer Free Shipping on Most Orders Within the Continental U.S. (Excludes AK/HI), and infrared sauna cabins are no exception for eligible orders. About Our Infrared Saunas
Infrared saunas represent a modern evolution in home wellness, using infrared heating panels to deliver radiant warmth that penetrates deeply rather than simply heating the surrounding air. Unlike conventional high-heat sauna environments, infrared cabins operate at gentler ambient temperatures, making the experience accessible and comfortable for a wide range of users — from those new to sauna practice to seasoned daily users looking for a refined home setup. An infrared sauna is built for the person who wants to make intentional recovery and relaxation a consistent part of their life, without leaving home. When choosing a cabin, the details that matter most are the quality and certification of the timber, the configuration and coverage of the heating panels, the capacity of the unit, and the clarity of the digital controls. Premium construction materials and thoughtful joinery determine how well a cabin holds up to years of regular use and how good it looks doing it. At Vital Light Co, every infrared sauna we carry is selected because it meets a high standard for materials, build integrity, and the kind of quiet, considered design that belongs in a premium home.
